Recipes for FRENCH ONION SOUP

Ingredients:

1/4 cup of butter
2 - 3 pounds of onions (thin) sauteed golden brown
6 cups of water
6 oxo cubes (beef)
1/8 tsp pepper
1 tsp of instant coffee

Directions:

Dissolve oxo cubes in water
Add pepper and instant coffee
Mix with onions
Simmer for 30 minutes
Put toast, gruyere cheese on top of soup in ind.
Bowls for 20 minutes @ 350F
Broil for 1 minute
